Choosing a therapist can feel personal and sometimes uncomfortable. You may be trying to judge whether someone will understand you, whether the conversation will feel natural, and whether therapy will offer anything more than advice you have already heard.
Bruce works to make the process direct, respectful, and collaborative. You do not need to arrive with the right words or a perfectly organized explanation of what is wrong. Many people begin with a general sense that something is no longer working. The conversation can start there.
More than 15 years of experience
Bruce began his clinical work in the substance use field, supporting adults facing addiction, relapse, trauma, anxiety, depression, and the difficult relationship patterns that often develop around these concerns. That experience continues to shape his approach today.
He works with people concerned about their own alcohol or drug use, as well as partners, relatives, and adult children affected by someone else's substance use. He also supports adults carrying trauma, persistent anxiety, depression, identity concerns, and major life changes.
Collaborative, direct, and person-centered
Bruce works from a person-centered orientation. This means therapy is not built around a therapist giving orders while the client passively listens. Bruce brings experience, clinical knowledge, honest feedback, and practical tools. The client brings their own history, goals, concerns, and understanding of their life.
Together, the work focuses on making sense of patterns, identifying what needs attention, and finding realistic ways forward.

Community involvement
Bruce is involved with Gesher Community Care and supports its commitment to culturally responsive mental health care for Jewish individuals and families.
Outside of counseling, Bruce values quiet time, reading, meaningful conversations, and spending time with his cats. He believes therapy works best when clients feel they are speaking with a real person rather than someone hiding behind clinical language.
